Joan E. Osterhoudt, 61, of Callaway, Nebraska, died Thursday, September 6, 2018, at her home in Callaway.
Mass Of Christian Burial will be on Monday, September 10, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Callaway with Father Thomas Gudipalli, officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2018, from 5-7 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Callaway. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Oconto, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to the Callaway Good Life Center or Aseracare Hospice. Timm-Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Callaway is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.  Please share online condolences with the family by visiting: reynoldslovefuneralhome.com
She was born August 6, 1957, in South Sioux City, Iowa to Frank and Francis (Hopkins) Devine.  Joan grew up in Oconto, Nebraska where she graduated from Oconto High School with the class of 1975.  She then went onto further her education at St. Mary’s for a year, but then switched gears and earned her degree in Cosmetology at Joseph’s College. 
Joan was united in marriage to Dwight Osterhoudt on April 24, 1981, in Oconto.  Two children were blessed to this union; Emily and Joe.  Joan and Dwight moved to Fort Collins, Colorado for a few years before moving to Callaway in June 1983.
Joan worked at the cafe in Callaway for a year before spending the next thirty plus years at the Right Drug store and then Seven Valley’s Health Mart.  She enjoyed her job, made many lifelong friends and touched a number of people’s lives through her love and compassion for helping others over the years at the store.
Joan enjoyed crocheting, camping and enjoying life to the fullest.  Family was very important to her and she loved taking road trips with Dwight on the weekends.
Survivors include her husband, Dwight of Callaway; daughter, Emily (Aaron) Withington of Big Springs, Nebraska; son, Joe (Allison) Osterhoudt of Broken Bow, Nebraska; one step-grandchild, Charlie Withington and a brother, Alan Devine of Ogallala, Nebraska.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents.
