GRAND ISLAND – The Islander girls golf team is heading to state after a dominant district performance.
Grand Island Senior High won the team title and had three individual medalists with sophomore Lilly Zoellner taking gold with a round of 79 at the A-3 District Tournament at Riverside Golf Course on Tuesday.
The Islanders shot a combined score of 346, 13 strokes better than second place Omaha Merian. GISH senior Faith Harris finished 3rd with a round of 82, while sophomore Paige Pehrson placed fourth, shooting an 85.
The Class A State Tournament will be played October 9th and 10th at the Norfolk Country Club.
