LINCOLN – A former Grand Island Senior High Athletic Director has made the final cut in the NSAA’s search for an executive director.

Jeff Johnson is one of four finalists looking to take over for Dr. Jim Tenopir who will be retiring from the position in July.

Johnson held the Assistant Principal/AD position at GISH from 1998-2003 before heading to Papillion-La Vista South where he is currently the principal.

Battle Creek Superintendent Jay Bellar, Bancroft-Rosalie Superintendent Jon Cerny, and Dundy County-Stratton Superintendent Jim Kent are the other three finalists still in the running for the position.

The NSAA says interviews will be scheduled in January, with the new executive director beginning service on or about July 1, 2018.
