Will Crane of St. Peter, Illinois Wins the Custer County Classic XX

Will Crane of St. Peter, IL was crowned champion at the Custer County Classic XX Bull Riding Event Monday night at the Custer County Fair. Crane was the only one who put together two qualified rides on the night. Crane scored a 73.5 on his first ride to send him into the short go. On his second ride, Crane climbed aboard the bull Pitch Perfect and hung for eight seconds to score 84.5 points which was the top ride of the night. Crane’s combined score of 158 points crowned him champion of the 20th Custer County Classic. There were six bull riders that put together a qualified ride through the first go. This year’s reserve champion was Dakota Eagleburger of Fairgrove, MO who scored an 81 on his opening ride and 3rd place went to 17 year old Conner Halverson of Gordon, NE who scored a 79 in the first go.

Great Western Bank presented the Free Style Bull Fighters competition. Four bull fighters took part and Taylor, Nebraska’s Rowdy Moon walked away with the title and championship saddle. Moon scored an 83 which was one point better than Ely Sharkey of Ainsworth and 2 points better than Evan Allard of Oklahoma.
