UNK hosted its annual high school cross country invitational Monday at the Kearney Country Club. Some of the area highlights included Mullen’s Trevor Kuncl finishing as the runner-up in the Class D boys race in a time of 18:17.4. Broken Bow finished 13th in the Class C boys team standings. Bow was led by Lane Russell who placed 21st overall (18:45). William Anderson of Gothenburg was third in Class C in a time of 17:35.8 and Gabriel Estrada of Cozad was 7th (18:06.4).
In the girls races, Mallory Applegate of Cozad was 4th overall (21:49.1) in Class C. Arcadia/Loup City finished 8th overall in the Class D girls team standings. ALC’s Alicia Rhoads was the top Lady Rebels’ finisher placing 19th (24:13). Mullen’s Molly Paxton finished in the top 10 placing 8th (23:06.5).
