“These Seniors Are Everything to This Program” – Ord Coach Dexter Goodner

ORD, NE — The Ord Chanticleers girls basketball team played smothering defense and earned a senior night win 44-32 over Broken Bow on Tuesday night.

The Chanticleers (22-0) set the tone right away.  Their tough defense stifled Broken Bow (12-10) immediately as they allowed just one point in the first quarter.  Ord’s offense stalled in the second quarter as they scored just three points to take a 17-10 lead to halftime.  Then, the Chanticleers broke the game open.  They outscored the Indians 17-6 in the third quarter and held on for a 12-point win.

Ord was led by 12 points from Delani Fahey while Ali Smith and Lydia Hill each added 10 points.  The Chants forced 21 turnovers in the game.

Freshman Kali Staples led Broken Bow in scoring with nine points while Majesta Valasek and Jory Lowe each scored eight points.

Both teams finish the regular season with games on Friday night.  Broken Bow hosts Cozad and Ord plays at O’Neill.
