Taylor and Moore Selected to OWH Class D2 All State Teams

Two area athletes were selected to the 2018-19 Omaha World Herald Class D2 Girls All State basketball teams over the weekend. Marlee Taylor of Sandhills/Thedford is a first team selection. Taylor, a 6’1 Senior, averaged 18 points and just over 13 rebounds per game this season for the Lady Knights. She is joined on the first team by Katelyn Heine of Wynot, Regan Alfs of Bruning Davenport Shickley, Allison Weidner of Humphrey St. Francis, and Taylor Peter of Chambers Wheeler Central. Taylor was also a Class D2 girls first team selection by the Lincoln Journal Star.

Mullen’s Samantha Moore was also honored by the Omaha World Herald as she was selected to the Class D2 girls All State second team. Moore, a 6’ sophomore, averaged 16 points per game this season for the Lady Broncos and helped lead them to a state tournament appearance.

Several area girls and boys received all state honorable mention by the publication. The list can be found in the Sunday edition of the OWH or on their website at Omaha.com
