SWC Wins New West All Star Volleyball Classic

The Southwest Conference won the New West all star volleyball classic Wednesday at Minden.  The SWC all stars defeated the Fort Kearny Conference in the championship match 2-1 (25-16, 20-25, 25-18).  Kailyn Scott of Broken Bow and Chelsea Fisher of Pleasanton received MVP honors.  Area athletes joining Scott on the SWC all star team were sister Kya Scott along with Kaileigh Gilligan and Carly Jensen of Gothenburg.  Carli Bailey of Ansley/Litchfield, Abbie Rohde and Mattie Beattie of SEM were among those that competed for the FKC.  The Lou Platte Conference defeated the RPAC in the consolation match 25-23-25-16.  Ellie Oxford and Halie Kaslon of Arcadia/Loup City were among those that represented the LPC all stars.

The New West Classic continues today with the all star girls and boys basketball games. The matchups will feature SWC vs LPC and the FKC vs RPAC.  Area athletes scheduled to compete in the girls all star games include : for the SWC Kya Scott, Kailyn Scott, Brianna Quinn (Broken Bow), Reagan Armagost (Cozad) ; for the LPC Jessi Heyen (Arcadia/Loup City) ; for the FKC Abbie Rohde, Faith Hernandez, Adi McFarland (SEM) and Carli Bailey (Ansley/Litchfield).  Area athletes scheduled to compete in the boys all star game include : for the SWC Keegan Baxter, Carsten Fox, Daine Wardyn (Broken Bow), Jacob Weatherly and Nolan Wetovick (Cozad), Carson Rhodes (Gothenburg) ; for the Lou Platte Conference Vince Eurek (Arcadia/Loup City) ; for the FKC Calvin Finley (Ansley/Litchfield)

Broken Bow girls head basketball coach Kelly Cooksley will coach the SWC girls basketball all stars.   John Rohde of SEM will help coach the FKC girls basketball team and Tammy Kenton of SEM will help coach the FKC volleyball team.
