The Southwest Conference Volleyball Tournament was played today in Cozad. The Broken Bow Lady Indians entered the tournament as the #2 seed and cruised in their opening round match against Ainsworth with a straight set win 25-12, 25-7. In the other opening round matches, Ogallala was a straight set winner over Cozad, Gothenburg won 2 sets to 1 over Valentine, and Minden was a straight set winner over McCook. In the semifinals, Broken Bow and Minden went the distance. Bow won the opening set 25-18 but Minden came back to win the second 25-19. In the third, it was tight throughout with Minden able to prevail 25-22. Minden advanced to the title match where they would meet the top seed Ogallala who defeated Gothenburg in straight sets in the other semifinal. In the 3rd place consolation match, Broken Bow defeated Gothenburg 25-19, 25-19. In the championship, Minden defeated Ogallala 30-28, 25-21.
