The Broken Bow girls basketball team advanced to the semifinals of the Southwest Conference tournament with an impressive 62-22 win over Cozad in the opening round on Monday night. Kya Scott led the way with a team high 14. Bow advances to the semifinals where they will play Ainsworth as the Lady Bulldogs edged Valentine 39-33. The semifinal will take place at North Platte Community College on Friday with the tip off scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM. Ogallala, the #2 seed, advanced to the semifinals with a 78-45 win over Minden. Ogallala will face Gothenburg in the semifinals as the Lady Swedes pulled away from McCook 44-28.
The Broken Bow boys fell to top seed Ogallala Monday night in the opening round of the SWC boys tournament 73-39. Ogallala advances to the semifinals where they will play Ainsworth on Friday. Ainsworth squeaked by Gothenburg 55-53. Broken Bow will play Valentine in the 7th place boys consolation game on Thursday in Gothenburg. Valentine fell to the #2 seed McCook 75-50. Bow’s consolation game will be broadcast on KCNI 1280 AM / 96.3 FM and kcni1280.com Tip off for the game is scheduled for 5:30. McCook will play Minden in the boys semifinals on Friday as Minden got by Cozad 56-38. Gothenburg will play Cozad in the 5th place consolation game on Thursday.
