SWC Girls Semifinals – Broken Bow vs Ainsworth – on KBBN

The Broken Bow girls basketball team will meet Ainsworth in the semifinals of the Southwest Conference tournament tonight at North Platte Community College. Broken Bow is the top seed in the tournament and has won the girls tournament the last two years and are looking to three-peat. The Lady Indians are now 15-2 on the season and ranked #4 this week in Class C1 by the Omaha World Herald. Ainsworth enters tonight’s semifinal at 7-7. The two met back on December 20th with Broken Bow winning 48-35. The game is scheduled to tip off at 6:30 tonight and will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and on kbbn.com The other SWC girls semifinal tonight features the #2 seed Ogallala against the #3 seed Gothenburg. Ogallala is 15-1 this season and is ranked #2 this week by the Omaha World Herald in the their latest Class C1 rankings. Gothenburg has had a strong season as well. Once ranked in the top ten by the OWH, the Lady Swedes are now 10-4 this season.

Today’s SWC tournament action will begin with the boys semifinals. The top seed Ogallala will face #4 seed Ainsworth at 3:30 this afternoon followed by the #2 seed McCook against the #3 seed Minden at 5 p.m.

The 3rd place consolation and championship games will be played Saturday at North Platte Community College.
