The Southwest Conference boys and girls basketball tournaments begin today with opening round games. The Broken Bow girls enter the tournament at 14-2 on the season and are the top seed. The two time defending SWC tournament champions will host Cozad tonight at the Indian gym with tip off scheduled for 6 p.m. Tonight’s game will be broadcast on KCNI 1280 AM / 96.3 FM and on kcni1280.com. Other opening round girls matchups tonight include : Ainsworth (#4) vs Valentine (#5) ; Gothenburg (#3) vs McCook (#6) ; and Ogallala (#2) vs Minden (#7).
In the boys tournament, Broken Bow is coming off their first win of the season with an impressive 81-46 win over Valentine last Friday. Bow will look to carry that momentum into the tournament as they travel out west today to take on the top seed Ogallala. Tonight’s game is scheduled to tip off at 7:15 central. Other opening round games tonight include : Ainsworth (#4) vs Gothenburg (#5) ; Minden (#3) vs Cozad (#6) ; McCook (#2) vs Valentine (#7).
