State Wrestling Team Races Tight After Day 1

The team scores are close after day one of the Nebraska state high school wrestling championships at the Century Link Center in Omaha. In Class A, Lincoln East has the lead with 72 points followed by Kearney in second with 61 points. Northwest has the lead in Class B with 52 points followed by Omaha Skutt with 50.5 points. Lexington is 6th in the team race after day one with 33 points. Valentine leads Class C with 63.5 points followed by Battle Creek with 58, David City with 54.5 and Broken Bow is currently 4th with 46 points. Burwell has the lead in Class D with 42 points followed by Mullen with 38 points. The state tournament continues Friday with first round consolation matches in Classes B and C starting the day at 9:30am.
