State Volleyball – Broken Bow Hands St. Paul First Set Loss of the Season but Fall 3-1 in C1 Semis

The Broken Bow volleyball team did something no other team had done this season and that is hand undefeated St. Paul a set loss. The Lady Indians accomplished that in the opening set of Friday’s C1 state semifinal when they edged the Wildcats 25-23. St. Paul would be able to respond though winning the second set 25-22, winning the third 25-15, and closing it out in the fourth 25-18. Majesta Valasek finished with 16 kills to lead the Broken Bow attack and Kailyn Scott dished out 35 set assists. Broken Bow is now 33-3 on the season and will play Wahoo in the third place consolation Saturday morning. Wahoo, the defending state champions, were knocked off by Lincoln Lutheran is straight sets (25-22, 25-20, 25-18). The third place match will be played at Lincoln East High School at 9am Saturday morning. The match will be broadcast live on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com. St. Paul will play Lincoln Lutheran for the C1 championship at 3pm Saturday afternoon.
