State Football Playoffs Begin Today – South Loup vs Ansley/Litchfield on KBBN

The opening round of the Class D1 and D2 playoffs begin today around the state of Nebraska. The South Loup Bobcats are the #2 seed on the west side of the D1 bracket and will open play against fellow D1-8 district opponent Ansley/Litchfield. The two met earlier in the regular season with South Loup coming out on top. The winner of today’s game will advance in the playoffs and play the winner of today’s Dundy County Stratton / Cambridge contest. Tonight’s South Loup / Ansley-Litchfield game will be broadcast live on KBBN 95.3 FM and on kbbn.com. Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm from Arnold. Pregame coverage will begin around 6:40. In other D1 action tonight, Burwell will play host to Palmer. The Longhorns are the top seed in the D1 west bracket. Arcadia-Loup City is the #5 seed in the west. The Rebels finished the regular season at 4-4 and will host 3-5 Elm Creek. The two met just last week with Arcadia/Loup City winning.

The Mullen Broncos are the top seed in the Class D2 west bracket. The Broncos finished an undefeated regular season and will host Paxton in its opening round game tonight. Sandhills/Thedford is the #5 seed in the west and will play 6-2 Bertrand tonight. Twin Loup is in the Class D2 playoff field. The Wolves fought their way into the playoffs by winning their final two regular season games and will travel to meet Kenesaw tonight.
