St. Pat’s and South Loup Claim Team Titles at South Loup Track Invite

North Platte St. Pat’s claimed the girls team title at the South Loup Track and Field Invite on Friday. St. Pat’s won the championship with 127 points. South Loup was second with 82 points followed by Mullen in third with 80.5 points. Area highlights included Jadeyn Bubak of South Loup taking gold in the girls 100 and 200 meter dash. Bubak set a new meet record in each event winning the 100 in a time of 12.6 seconds and the 200 in a time of 26.5 seconds. Jessie Sallach of South Loup won two individual golds by placing first in the shot put (38’8″) and the discus (126’9.5″). Samantha Moore of Mullen also claimed two individual golds. Moore tied the meet record in winning the 100 meter hurdles in a time of 16.1 seconds. Moore also won the girls 300 meter hurdles in a time of 51.4.

South Loup claimed the boys team title with 100 points followed by Mullen in second with 73.5 points and St. Pat’s was third with 70 points. Area highlights included Lane Edis of Mullen claiming 3 golds in the field events. Edis took gold in the boys long jump (22′), triple jump (41’2.25″), and the high jump (6′). Leighton Bubak tied a meet record in winning the boys 100 meter dash in a time of 11.3 seconds and also took gold in the 200 in a time of 23.6. Cooper Taylor turned in strong performances in the distance races winning the 3200 in a time of 11:25.2 and the 1600 in a time of 5:07.2.
