South Loup and Callaway hosted the 37th Seven Valleys Volleyball Tournament on Saturday with matches played at the Callaway High School and Community Center. In the opening round, Ansley/Litchfield def. Mullen 2-0 (25-19, 25-18), Twin Loup def. Anselmo-Merna 2-1 (25-16, 24-26, 25-21), South Loup def. Medicine Valley 2-1 (23-25, 25-11, 25-18), and Sandhills/Thedford def. Brady 2-0 (25-19, 25-22). In the semifinals, Ansley/Litchfield def. Twin Loup 2-0 (25-17, 25-18) and South Loup def. Sandhills/Thedford 2-1 (23-25, 25-18, 25-8). The championship match would feature Ansley/Litchfield vs South Loup and was a tight back and forth affair that went all three sets. South Loup won the opening set 25-23 but Ansley/Litchfield fought back to tie the match winning the second set 29-27. South Loup would prevail in the third winning 25-20.
The third place match was won by Twin Loup winning over Sandhills/Thedford 2-0 (25-19, 25-13). The fifth place match was won by Anselmo-Merna who defeated Medicine Valley 2-0 (25-16, 28-26).
