South Loup Wins 34th Seven Valleys Volleyball Tournament

After dropping their first 3 matches of the season to 3 ranked teams, the South Loup volleyball team got into the winning column in a big way on Saturday as they claimed the title at the Seven Valleys Volleyball Tournament played in Arnold. South Loup opened the tournament with a straight set win over Anselmo-Merna (25-16, 25-17) and defeated Sandhills/Thedford in the semifinals (25-11, 25-7). In the championship match, South Loup would meet Mullen who had defeated South Loup earlier in the season. This time it would be South Loup coming out on top with a straight set win (25-19, 25-19). In other action from Saturday’s tournament, Ansley/Litchfield def. Sandhills/Thedford in the third place match in straight sets (25-16, 25-10), Anselmo-Merna def. Twin Loup in the fifth place match 2 sets to 1 (24-14, 24-26, 25-18), and Brady def. Medicine Valley in the 7th place match in straight sets (25-20, 25-6).
