South Loup and Broken Bow competed at the Sutherland volleyball invite on Saturday. When it was over, South Loup took home the tournament title. South Loup def. Southwest in straight sets in round one and knocked off Chase County in the semifinals 2 sets to 1. In the championship, South Loup would meet North Platte St. Pat’s. The Lady Bobcats took set one 25-23. St. Pat’s came back to win set two 27-25. But South Loup would prevail in the third 25-23. Broken Bow ended up placing 5th. Bow lost to St. Pat’s in the opening round but came back in the consolation bracket to defeat Dundy County Stratton 2 sets to 1 and defeated Sutherland in the 5th place match 2 sets to 1. During the tournament, Broken Bow coach Skylar Morris collected her 100th career win.
Ewing won the title at the Ansley/Litchfield volleyball tournament Saturday. Ewing def. Twin Loup in straight sets in round one and defeated Ansley/Litchfield in straight sets in the semifinals. In the championship, Ewing defeated Arcadia/Loup City in straight sets (25-12, 25-18)
At the Brady Eagle tournament on Saturday, the host Lady Eagles won the title. Brady defeated Eustis-Farnam in straight sets in round one and then defeated Mullen in the semifinals 2 sets to 1. In the championship match, Brady met Anselmo-Merna. AM made it to the final with wins over Wauneta-Palisade and Cody Kilgore. In the final, Brady won 2 sets to 1 with the scores going 20-25, 25-21, 25-12.
