South Loup Claims Girls and Boys Team Titles at MNAC Track and Field Championships

The 2018 Mid Nebraska Activities Conference Track and Field championships were held at Arnold on Friday (4/27). South Loup won both the girls and boys team titles. The South Loup Girls won the team championship with 119 points followed by Ansley/Litchfield in 2nd with 106 points and Mullen was third with 73.5. The South Loup Boys claimed the team title with 136 points followed by Mullen in second with 86 points and Sandhills/Thedford was third with 72. Some of the individual highlights included 2 athletes that achieved gold in 3 individual events. Emery Swan of Brady won conference gold in the 400 in a time of 1 minute flat, the 800 in a time of 2:28.4, and the 1600 in a time of 5:53.9. Nolan Marten of Sandhills/Thedford took gold in the 100 in a time of 11.2, the 200 in a time of 23.1, and the 400 in a time of 52.7. Several others achieved gold in 2 individual events. Tyler Swisher of Sandhills/Thedford took gold in the boys shot put (49’11”) and discus (143’8″). Lane Edis of Mullen won the boys high jump (6’3″) and the long jump (22′). On the girls side, Jadeyn Bubak of South Loup won the 100 (12.7) and the 200 (26.2). Sarah Lewis of Ansley/Litchfield posted the top time in the 300 meter hurdles (46.6) and the 100 meter hurdles (16.00). Alyssa Bailey of Ansley/Litchfield won the high jump (5’2″) and the triple jump (32’10.75″). Falan Ryan of Ansley/Litchfield won the girls shot put (35’8.75″) and the girls pole vault (8’6″). In the relays, South Loup won the boys 4×100 (45.8) and the 4×800 (8:35.9) and Twin Loup won the boys 4×400 (3:38.8). South Loup won the girls 4×100 (52.4) and Mullen won the girls 4×400 (4:31.10) and the 4×800 (10:51.6).
