South Loup Claims Both Boys and Girls Team Titles at MNAC Championships

South Loup claimed both the girls and boys team titles at the Mid Nebraska Activities Conference track and field championships Friday. South Loup won the girls title with 117 points. Mullen was second with 90 points and Ansley/Litchfield was third with 72. The boys team race was much closer. South Loup was able to hold off Ansley/Litchfield for the team title. South Loup had a team high 118 points with the Spartans a close second with 114.5 points. Brady finished third with 91 points.

There were several athletes that claimed multiple individual golds on the day. Kalen Dockweiler of South Loup was the top performer winning three individual golds. Dockweiler won the 400 (53.00), the 800 (1:59.9), and the 1600 (4:45.1). Lane Edis of Mullen took gold in the high jump (6′) and the long jump (21’11”). Christian Gentry of Brady won both the boys shot put (44′ .5″) and the discus (140’6″). Bodee Assels of Brady took gold in both the 100 (11.2) and the 200 (23.4).

On the girls side, team champion South Loup had three claim multiple individual titles. Jaedyn Bubak took gold in the 100 (12.4) and the 200 (26.7) ; Jessie Sallach won both the girls shot put (37’10.25″) and the discus (130’3″) ; and Taylor Conroy placed first in the long jump (16′ 3.75″) and the triple jump (32’8.5″)
