South Loup claimed the Class B/C boys team title at the UNK High School Track Invite on Saturday. The Bobcats claimed the championship with 90 points. South Loup had 4 gold medals on the day. Leighton Bubak won the 55 meter dash in a time of 6.93. Landon Furne was the champion in the 200 meter dash in a winning time of 24.9. Cooper Taylor was first in the 3200 meter run in a time of 11:34.05 and the team of Jace Connell, Blake Brown, Cooper Atkins and Kalen Dockweiler won the 4×800 meter relay in a time of 9:05.93.
South Loup finished 3rd in the girls team standings behind champion Adams Central and runner-up Cozad. Jadeyn Bubak won 2 golds on the day. Bubak won the girls 55 meter dash in a time of 7.62 and won the 200 in a winning time of 27.62. Jessie Sallach of South Loup won the girls discus with a throw of 109’11”. Cozad had two champions on the day. Kennedy Berreckman was first in the high jump by clearing 5’3″ and Megan Burkholder of Cozad won the girls pole vault by clearing 10’6″.
