South Loup, Anselmo-Merna, Mullen, and Cody-Kilgore all advanced to the semi-finals of the Mid-Nebraska Activities Conference volleyball tournament Thursday night. In the Loup Valley Division, top seed South Loup defeated Ansley/Litchfield in straight sets (25-9, 25-14) to advance. With the win, South Loup head coach Randi Atkins collected her 100th career victory. South Loup will face Cody-Kilgore in the semifinals. Cody-Kilgore advanced out of the Sandhills division with a straight set win over Hyannis (25-20, 25-22). Anselmo-Merna advanced from the Loup Valley division. AM started the night by defeating Stapleton in straight sets (25-9, 25-16) and then knocked off the #2 seed Brady in straight sets (25-22, 25-23). The Lady Coyotes will face Mullen in the semi’s. The Sandhills division’s top seed advanced with a straight set win over Sandhills/Thedford (25-17, 25-20). Championship Saturday will take place at Broken Bow high school. The first semifinal will feature AM vs Mullen at 11am followed by South Loup vs Cody Kilgore. The semifinals, 3rd place consolation, and championship matches will be broadcast on KCNI 1280 AM / 96.3 FM, kcni1280.com, and the free KCNI Pure Country app.
