South Loup Girls Win Overton Track Invite – South Loup Boys Finish Runner-up

Several area teams competed at the Overton Track and Field Invite on Tuesday.  South Loup was the girls team champion with 149 points.  Ansley/Litchfield was 4th in the girls team standings with 61 points and Twin Loup was 5th with 51.  Axtell won the boys team title with 174 points.  South Loup was second with 98 points, Ansley/Litchfield was third with 85.  Twin Loup was fifth in the boys team standings with 46 points which was one point better than SEM who finished sixth with 45.

South Loup claimed 6 event titles in winning the girls team championship.  Halie Recoy won the girls 100 (13.09), Ivy Tullis was first in the 1600 (6:12), Ella Cool won the 3200 (14:03.51), Abby Stallbaumer placed first in the girls discus (127’9″) and Reagan Cool won the girls pole vault clearing 9’6″.  South Loup won the girls 4×400 meter relay in a winning time of 4:42.65.  Other area highlights on the girls side saw Carli Bailey of Ansley/Litchfield claim two golds winning the 400 (1:05.03) and the 300 meter hurdles (51.51).  Elsie Ottun of Twin Loup won the girls long jump with an effort of 16’2.5″.

On the boys side, Calvin Finley of Ansley/Litchfield won the 800 (2:13.58) and Ryan Bailey of Ansley/Litchfield won the high jump clearing 5’6″.  The Spartans also won the boys 4×400 meter relay in a time of 4:00.14.  South Loup won three event titles with Jake Halstead winning the discus (144’3″), Silas Cool won the pole vault (12′) and South Loup won the boys 4×800 relay in a time of 9:21.89.  Noah Eggleston of SEM won the boys long jump with an effort of 20’6″.
