The SEM Mustangs will travel to Spalding to face Spalding Academy in six man football action tonight. Both teams enter tonight’s game at 1-1. Spalding Academy won their opener 57-12 at Harvard but then fell to Silver Lake last week 44-28. SEM fell to Arthur County in a wild high scoring affair 101-80 in their opener but then bounced back with an impressive 68-30 win over Stuart on the road. Grant Lewandowski is in his first year as SEM head football coach. Lewandowski visited with KCNI/KBBN sports this week and talked about the excitement of getting their first win of the season last week.
Statistically SEM is led by their quarterback Noah Eggleston who is averaging 365 yards passing through the first two games and has thrown for 13 touchdowns. Nine of those touchdown passes have went to brother Kellen Eggleston who is averaging 219 yards receiving per game. Coach Lewandowski shared what his main message to the team has been this week.
Tonight’s SEM / Spalding Academy game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and on kbbn.com. Kickoff is scheduled 7 p.m.
In other area action, Mullen is on the road at Maywood Hayes Center and Sandhills Valley will host Medicine Valley in Tryon.
