Sandhills/Thedford, Anselmo-Merna, Mullen, and Hyannis Advance to MNAC Boys Semifinals

The boys semifinals are set for the MNAC boys basketball tournament. In opening round games played at Mullen, Anselmo-Merna defeated South Loup 55-49. The Coyotes were led by Wyat Lambertson who had a team high 25 points and Dalton Duryea finished with 16. South Loup was led by Cache Gracey who had a game high 27 points and Tre Connell finished with 12 for the Bobcats. AM will face Mullen in the semifinals. Mullen knocked off Arthur County 71-33. Trevor Kuncl had a huge game for the Broncos finishing with a game high 30 points. Clayton Moore finished with a double double 21 points and 13 rebounds for Mullen.

On the other side of the bracket, Sandhills/Thedford edged Sandhills Valley 56-53. The Knights advance to the semifinals where they will face top seed Hyannis. The Longhorns defeated Brady 56-49. The boys semifinals will be played at Broken Bow high school on Thursday.

The Mid Nebraska Activities Conference basketball tournament continues Tuesday with girls second round action. In Merna, Sandhills/Thedford will play Arthur County followed by top seed Anselmo-Merna against Sandhills Valley. In Arnold, Mullen will face Twin Loup followed by the #2 seed South Loup against Hyannis. Games from Merna will be broadcast on KCNI 96.3 FM and will be video streamed live on the KCNI/KBBN You Tube page and the Sandhills Express facebook page. Games from Arnold will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com. Games at both locations begin at 5:30 p.m.
