Recruiting notes: Peru State football and basketball add to their rosters

PERU – Three student-athletes, two from Nebraska, have decided to attend Peru State College to further their education and continue to participate in athletics.

Valley Center (KS) wide receiver and cornerback Dalton Cross announced his intentions to the Bobcats football program via Twitter on Saturday night. The 5’11” 175 pound senior caught 17 balls for 322 yards and three touchdowns last fall. He also registered 56 tackles, seven interceptions and a fumble recovery. He is committed to play cornerback for head coach Steve Schneider.

A pair of Nebraska high school players will join the Peru State’s men’s basketball program. 6’6″ Norris center Michael Wardy tweeted Monday he is excited to announce his commitment to play basketball and further his education at Peru State.

Another in-state recruit, Blake Petersen, announced he will play basketball for head coach Bob Ludwig. The 6’3″ guard currently leads Columbus High School in scoring at 12.1 points per game. He also averages 4.4 rebounds per contest.

“(It’s a) Great day when two Nebraska guys we love join the family,” Ludwig said in a tweet Monday afternoon.
