PWG Sweeps Baseball Doubleheader from Broken Bow Juniors and Seniors

The Broken Bow American Legion Juniors and Seniors baseball teams traveled to Greeley Thursday night for a doubleheader with PWG (Palmer, Wolbach, Greeley). The Juniors fell 6-2 and the Seniors lost another heartbreaker 6-5.

In the Seniors game, Bow took a 3-1 lead in the top of the 4th thanks to an rbi single by Sam Peterson and a 2 rbi double by Blake Denson. Bow scored 2 more runs in the 6th to pad their lead. The bottom of the 6th is where the heartbreak hit for Bow. Trailing 5-2, PWG’s Riley Nekoliczak hit a ball down the third baseline that appeared to be foul but was called fair allowing to runs to score. PWG would score two more times in the inning and hold on for a 6-5 come from behind win.

The Bow Juniors and Seniors will host Cozad for a doubleheader on Saturday at Paul Brown Field. The Juniors game is scheduled for 3pm with the Seniors game to follow at 5:30. The Seniors game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM.
