Ogallala Sweeps Broken Bow in Juniors and Seniors Doubleheader

The Broken Bow American Legion juniors and seniors baseball teams hosted Ogallala for a doubleheader Tuesday night at Paul Brown Field.

The Bow juniors dropped a tough low scoring affair that went extra innings.  Bow scored a run in the second inning and led 1-0 going to the 7th.  However, Ogallala would score a run in the 7th to tie the game and force extra innings.  Broken Bow had the winning run at 2nd base with one out in the 8th inning but could not score as Ogallala then scored 2 runs in the 9th and held on to win 3-1.  Broken Bow had just 4 hits in the game led by Austin Harvey who finished 2 for 4.  The Bow juniors are now 8-3 overall.

Ogallala used a big fifth inning to pull away for the win in the seniors game.  Ogallala sent 11 men to the plate in the fifth and scored 7 runs on their way to a 9-0 victory.  Bow managed just 4 hits on the night.  Blake Denson and Clay Brandon were each 1 for 3 and Max Denson and Caden Holm each went 1 for 2 on the night.  The Bow seniors are now 7-6 overall on the season.

The Bow Juniors and Seniors will next travel to Gothenburg for a doubleheader on Friday.
