NSAA Boys State Golf Championships Begin Today – Smith (SL), Kramer (SV), and Critel (Burwell) to Compete in Class D

The NSAA state boys golf championships begin today across Nebraska.  Colbi Smith of South Loup, Cole Kramer of Sandhills Valley, and Dillon Critel of Burwell will be among those competing at the Class D state tournament at Lake Maloney Golf Club in North Platte.  Smith and Kramer qualified for state by placing in the top ten individually of the D-4 district meet held las week.  Critel qualified as the district champion at the D-2 district.

Colbi Smith will be the first of the area golfers to tee off today.  Smith is scheduled to tee off hole #1 at 9:36 this morning.  Joining him in the group will be Bryson Gadeken of Neligh-Oakdale, Antony Heiser of Stuart, and Layton Gralheer of Pender.  Cole Kramer is scheduled to tee off at 9:54 on the front nine.  Joining Kramer in the group will be Kaden Lux of Overton, William Jesse of CWC, and Payton Swanson of Crawford.  Dillon Critel will be in the second to last group to tee off on hole #1.  Critel will be joined by Michael Vanness of Wausa, Gage Burns of Creighton, and Teegan Sonneman of North Platte St. Pat’s.

The boys state golf championships are a 36 hole event with round 2 scheduled for tomorrow.

The Class A tournament is being played at Norfolk Country Club, the Class B tournament is at the Scottsbluff Country Club, and the Class C tournament is being played at the Elks Country Club in Columbus.
