UNDATED – For the first time this season, a non-Omaha metro team is atop Class A as the playoffs begin.
The final NCN 35 high school football rankings of the season placed Kearney atop class A, after previous number 1 Omaha North suffered a surprising loss to Lincoln Pius X.
Kearney isn’t the only new #1. After Gretna ended Elkhorn South’s 33-game winning streak, the Dragons took the Storm’s spot at #1 in Class B.
Norfolk Catholic, Ponca, Creighton, BDS and Riverside all stayed at the top of their respective rankings.
