Nebraska State High School Rodeo Finals This Week in Hastings

The entry list is set for the Nebraska State High School Rodeo Finals to be held in Hastings at the Adams County Fairgrounds with performances starting tomorrow (6/14). Several area participants will be among the nearly 150 high school rodeo athletes to compete in 12 events. The top four in each event at the state level will earn a berth at the National High School Rodeo Finals in Rock Springs, Wyoming July 15-21 where the national champions will be crowned in each event. The state finals are the culmination of 28 regular season rodeos. Performances will be held at 10am and 6pm on Thursday and Friday with the short go on Saturday starting at 1pm. After Thursday and Friday’s performances, the top ten contestants in each event will advance to the short go on Saturday. The cutting will start at 7:30am on Thursday and Friday with the short go starting at 8am on Saturday. The 2018-19 Miss Nebraska High School Rodeo Queen will be crowned prior to Saturday’s performance.
