Nebraska Shrine Bowl This Weekend

The 61st annual Nebraska Shrine Bowl All Star Football game will be played on Saturday at Ron and Carol Cope Stadium on the campus of the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Kickoff is scheduled for 2pm. The Shrine Bowl has long been one of the state’s most prestigious high school all-star sports events and was designed to help raise funds and awareness to benefit Shriners Hospitals for children.

The game showcases top high school football talent from around the state and features recent graduates who in many cases will be moving on to continue their football career at the collegiate level. Grayson Garey of Broken Bow and Lane Edis of Mullen will be among those suiting up for the North team. Garey will be joining the Wayne State College football program under the direction of coach Dan McLaughlin. Edis will be playing Saturday at the stadium he will be calling home as he has signed to join the UNK Lopers football program.

Trenton Harbor of Gothenburg and Jesse Ulrich of Ord will also suit up for the North team on Saturday.
