The Nebraska high school rodeo made a stop in Nuckolls County this past weekend with performances on Saturday and Sunday. Some of the area highlights on Saturday included Brooke McCulley of Mullen finishing as the runner up in the breakaway roping in a time of 2.92 seconds while Sid Miller of Merna teamed up with Dalton Kunkee of Lexington to place second in the team roping in a time of 9.48. Others who made the top three in their event included Madison Mills of Eddyville placed 3rd in the barrels and pole bending and Matthew Miller of Callaway was third in the tie down roping.
Sunday area highlights included Madison Mills of Eddyville winning the barrel racing in a time of 16.496. Runner up finishes included Frazier Kaelin of Ansley in the boys cutting, Brooke McCulley of Mullen in breakaway roping, and Cole Dwyer of Burwell teamed with Seth Glass of Potter to finish runner-up in the team roping. Third place finishes included Jymmie Jensen of Burwell (Barrels), Jace Hurlburt of Arcadia (Breakaway Roping), Emma Pearson of Broken Bow (Girls Cutting), and Sid Miller of Merna (Tie down roping)
