The Nebraska High School rodeo made stops in Bloomfield and O’Neill this past weekend. It was another strong showing for area cowboys and cowgirls.
On Saturday, some of the area highlights included Taci Flinn who posted the winning time in the barrel racing at 16.716 seconds and Jentri Hurlburt of Arcadia teamed up with Trey Garey of Broken Bow to win the team roping in a time of 8.37 seconds. Others who finished runner-up in their respective event included Andrea Meyer of Stapleton in the breakaway roping, Coy Johnston of Stapleton in steer wrestling, and Zane Kreikemeier of Callaway teamed with Coy Johnston of Stapleton to place second in the team roping.
On Sunday, area highlights included Cooper Bass of Brewster winning the boys cutting with a score of 75. Others who placed second in their event included Taci Flinn of Arcadia in the barrel racing, Hanna Huffman of Burwell in goat tying, and Cole Dwyer of Burwell teamed with Seth Glass of Potter to place second in the team roping.
