Nebraska High School Rodeo contestants gathered for the Dawson County Rodeo in Lexington this past weekend. Recapping some of the area highlights, Brooke McCulley of Mullen placed first on Saturday in the breakaway roping with a winning time of 2.82 seconds. On Sunday, Colt Hesseltine of Halsey tied with Gauge McBride of Kearney for the top ride in the barebacks with a 68. Jentri Hurlburt of Arcadia posted the winning time of 2.69 seconds in breakaway roping on Sunday. In Sunday’s team roping, Cauy Pokorny of Stapleton teamed with Clay Holz of Niobrara to win the event in a time of 6.26 seconds.
