The Nebraska High School Fall Rodeo Season began this past weekend with two performances held in Bassett. The big area highlight from the weekend included Stapleton’s Cauy Pokorny claiming the title in the steer wrestling on Saturday in a winning time of 5.37 seconds. Pokorny would then team with Clay Holz of Niobrara to win the team roping in a time of 6.63 seconds. Those winning efforts helped Pokorny claim the boys all around title on Saturday as well. Summer Richardson of Ainsworth was Saturday’s girls all around champion. Sunday’s all around champions included Sage Konicek of Ord for the boys and the girls all around champion during Sunday’s performance was Mataya Ecklund of Valentine.
