Nebraska High School Rodeo Fall Season Concludes

The 2020 Nebraska High School Rodeo fall season concluded this past weekend with a Saturday performance in Callaway and a Sunday performance in North Platte. It was another strong showing for area cowboys and cowgirls. Brooke McCulley of Mullen was the girls all around champion on Saturday. McCulley won the breakaway roping in a time of 2.62 seconds and was runner-up in the barrels on Saturday with a time of 18.573. Madison Mills of Eddyville was the girls all around winner on Sunday. Mills won the pole bending in a time of 20.617 and was 5th in the barrel racing on Sunday. Mills also won the pole bending Saturday in a time of 20.941 seconds. Other area highlights from the weekend included Brody McAbee of Ansley winning the saddle bronc competition Saturday. McAbee had the only qualified ride with a score of 64. On Sunday, Taci Flinn of Arcadia won the barrel racing in a time of 17.896, Devin Konicek of Burwell won the boys cutting with a score of 73, Dalton Garey won the bull riding with a score of 54, Chloe Marshall of Burwell was the goat tying champion in a time of 7.81 seconds, Slate Micheel of Sargent won the steer wrestling in a time of 4.82 seconds and Sid Miller of Merna posted the top time in the tie down roping Sunday at 10.97 seconds.
