Nebraska Baseball Opens Big Ten Play with Weekend Series Against Michigan – Games on KBBN

Nebraska opens Big Ten play with a weekend series vs. Michigan on Friday-Sunday, March 25-27 at Hawks Field.

First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 7:32 p.m., followed by a 2:02 p.m. start on Saturday and an 11:02 a.m. first pitch on Sunday.

Nebraska dropped a non-conference series at home last weekend vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The Huskers climbed back from a three-run deficit in the bottom of the ninth to record their third walk-off win in the last four games after Leighton Banjoff’s walk-off two-RBI single to left in a 13-12 win over the Islanders. Texas A&M-CC captured the series win with a 4-1 victory on Saturday and 21-4 win on Sunday over the Big Red.

Head coach Will Boldt was a guest on the Sports Nightly radio program this past Monday and talked about this year’s freshman class and how they have adjusted so far to the college game.

Michigan enters the weekend with an 11-9 record after falling 8-2 at Xavier on Wednesday night.

Clark Elliott leads the Wolverines at the plate, hitting .368 with nine doubles, a triple, three homers and 21 RBI this season. Joe Stewart is hitting .337, while Tito Flores had a team-high five home runs and Ted Burton leads Michigan with 27 RBI on the year.

All games of the Nebraska/Michigan weekend series will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM.
