Nebraska American Legion Baseball Posts “there will be baseball”

Just days after the American Legion National Organization announced  that they would “shut down all sponsorship and national involvement in baseball for the 2020 season”, the Nebraska American Legion Baseball website posted on Friday (5/15) that “there will be baseball, we will wear the Legion patch”.  This announcement comes after Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts said Monday that youth baseball and softball programs could start up beginning in June.

The website also states that the Department Athletic Committee has formed a plan to register and get insurance but states that programs should hold off on any administrative process until more information is available.  According to the website, more information from the May 15th meeting will be posted in the days ahead.

Jeff Denson and Ryan Coleman of the Diamond Youth Organization will join the Breakfast Show Tuesday morning in the 9 am hour on KCNI/KBBN to share how they plan to move forward with youth baseball and softball programs in the area.
