National High School Rodeo Finals Underway in Wyoming

The 2019 National High School Rodeo Finals are underway in Rock Springs, WY. The opening performance took place on Sunday evening. Area cowboy Cauy Pokorny of Stapleton provided the top highlight for Team Nebraska in the opening performance. Pokorny posted the top time in the steer wrestling event at 5.67 seconds. Madison Mills of Eddyville had her first run in the barrel racing on Sunday night. Mills put together a solid time of 18.242 seconds which was 10th fastest during the performance. Other members of Team Nebraska had solid showings during the opening performance. Sage Konicek of Ord had the 8th best score in the boys cutting during the performance ; Ashton Troyer of West Point had the 5th best score in the girls cutting during the performance ; Cameron Jensen of Bingham and Tanner Whetham of Morrill had the 9th best time in the team roping during Sunday night’s performance.
