Mullen hosted its annual track and field meet Thursday in Arnold. Mullen claimed both the girls and boys team titles. Mullen won the girls team championship with 171 points. Anselmo-Merna finished 2nd with 101 points and Twin Loup was third with 80 points. Mullen won the boys championship with 123 points. It went to the final event to decide 2nd place, Twin Loup finished as runner up with 110 points and Sandhills/Thedford was third with 109 points. Among the individual highlights, there were 3 athletes that claimed 3 individual golds on the day. Carlie Collier of Sandhills/Thedford won the girls 100 (13.8), 200 (28.3), and 400 (67.4). Lane Edis of Mullen claimed gold in the boys high jump (5’10”), long jump (20′ 7 3/4″), and 100 meter dash (11.8). Gage Haake of Sandhills/Thedford also claimed 3 individual golds winning the boys shot put (39′ 7 3/4″), 110 hurdles (16.6), and 300 hurdles (43.6).
