Mullen Punches Ticket to State

The Mullen Broncos punched their ticket to the boys state basketball tournament Tuesday night. Mullen defeated Wauneta-Palisade 54-34 to claim the D2-5 district championship. The defending Class D2 champs will now prepare for the state tournament which begins March 8th.

In other D2 district final action Tuesday night, Mead defeated Falls City Sacred Heart 40-39 to claim the D2-1 title. Wynot defeated Humphrey St. Francis 55-45 for the D2-2 championship. Riverside defeated Chambers Wheeler Central 63-53 for the D2-3 district crown. Wilcox-Hildreth defeated Giltner 58-45 to win the D2-4 title and Cody Kilgore defeated Creek Valley 47-40 to win the D2-6 district championship.

Here are the results of the Class D1 district finals played Tuesday. The winners advance to the state tournament next week.
