Mullen Places 2nd and Broken Bow 6th at State Wrestling Duals

Broken Bow and Mullen competed at the NSAA State Dual Wrestling Championships held at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds in Kearney on Saturday.

Mullen finished as the state runner-up in Class D.  The Broncos entered the tournament as the top seed.  Mullen defeated Alma in the quarterfinals 51-30 then knocked off Pender in the semifinals 49-24.  The Broncos went up against the #2 seed Sutherland in the championship dual.  The Sailors pulled away for a 58-19 victory.

Broken Bow placed 6th in the Class B tournament.  Bennington defeated Broken Bow in the quarterfinals 47-25.  Bennington would win the Class B championship with a thrilling 33-32 win over top seed Blair in the championship dual.  Broken Bow faced Columbus Lakeview in the consolation semifinals and would advance with a 43-21 victory.  The Indians would face Scottsbluff for fifth.  Scottsbluff won the dual 36-19.

Millard South won the Class A championship and Aquinas Catholic of David City took the title in Class C
