Mullen, Loup City, and Burwell Place in Top Ten of Final NSAA Cup Standings

The Nebraska School Activities Association has announced the final standings for the NSAA Cup which represents the NSAA All-Activities Award for Nebraska high schools.  The annual awards program began in the fall of 2006 to recognize the state’s most successful high school athletic and fine arts programs and presents awards to the twelve Nebraska high schools which earn the most points during the school year by participating in NSAA education-based activity programs.  The NSAA Cup is presented to the winning schools in the four classes of the All-School division, Girls division, and Boys division during special ceremonies the following fall.

Winners are determined by a point system based on participation in NSAA education-based activities and performance in state championship events within each division and class.  Music, which does not have a state-level event, earns points based on participation at the district music contest.

Due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic, there were no spring activities.  Therefore, schools were awarded five participation points for each spring activity they had registered for.

Area schools Mullen, Loup City, and Burwell were among those that finished in the top ten of their respective division.  Mullen and Loup City each placed in the top 10 of the All-School standings in Class D.  Mullen was tied for 7th while Loup City was 9th.  Mullen finished 4th in the Class D boys standings and Loup City was 7th in the Class D girls standings.  Burwell finished tied for 9th in the Class C boys standings.
