The Mullen fall sports teams attended the Pinnacle Bank Fall Sports Media Days in North Platte on Friday hosted by Nebpreps.com. Today we feature the Mullen football team and tomorrow the volleyball team.
The Mullen football team is coming off a 6-2 season in 2020. The Broncos qualified for the Class D2 playoffs last season but fell to Pleasanton in the opening round. Representing Mullen during media days were head coach Wade Marsh along with players Clayton Moore and Spencer DeNaeyer. All three expressed excitement about the upcoming season. Seven starters return from last year’s team. Coach Marsh talked about the experience the Broncos have returning this season.
Moore and DeNaeyer both expressed anticipation of getting through conditioning and beginning practice. DeNaeyer said he will be ready to “thump” somebody while Moore is looking forward to getting past all of the running.
Mullen will open the season August 27th when they host the 2020 Class D2 state runners up Sandhills/Thedford.
