Mullen Claims Both Girls and Boys MNAC Tournament Titles

Mullen claimed both the girls and boys Mid Nebraska Activities Conference tournament title on Saturday.

Mullen jumped out early against South Loup in the girls championship game on their way to a 56-29 victory.  UNK commit Samantha Moore had a big game to leady the Lady Broncos finishing with a game high 25 points.  Kylie Licking also finished in double figures for Mullen with 11.  With the win, Mullen improves to 17-2 on the season.  South Loup was led by Megan Donegan who had a team high 9 points as the Lady Bobcats suffer just their third loss of the season.

The Mullen boys pulled away from Sandhills Valley in the fourth quarter to post a 44-27 win.  The Broncos were led by Bryce McIntosh who finished with a game high 12 points. Trevor Kuncl and Brendan Walker also finished in double figures with 10 points each. Mullen has now won 11 in a row and have not lost since the calendar turned to 2021 as they improve to 15-2 overall.  Sandhills Valley (Stapleton/McPherson County) was led by Cole Kramer who finished with a team high 9 points.  The Mavericks are now 14-4 on the season.

Sandhills/Thedford and Anselmo-Merna met one another in both the girls and boys 3rd place consolation games of the MNAC tournament.  AM won the girls game 70-45.  Jaide Chandler of Anselmo-Merna led all scorers with 20 points and Tenley Rasmussen led Sandhills/Thedford with 18.  Sandhills/Thedford held off Anselmo-Merna in the boys consolation game 46-39.  Dane Pokorny of S/T led all scorers with 20 points and Wyat Lambertson led AM with 12 points.
