Mullen and Burwell Qualify for Boys State Golf

The Mullen and Burwell boys golf teams qualified for the Class D NSAA boys state golf championships on Monday. Burwell claimed the Class D2 district title and qualified for state as a team. The Longhorns shot a tournament low 370 which was two shots better than Archbishop Bergan who was second with a 372. Burwell’s Jordan McBride shot low individual round of the day with an 81 and teammate Taten Phillips also placed in the top five finishing third with an 86.

Mullen placed second at the D5 district meet on Monday and qualifies for state as a team. North Platte St. Pat’s claimed the team title with a 360. Koby Walker led the way for the Broncos shooting a 73 for the low round of the day. Mullen’s Josh Cox also placed in the top ten finishing 8th with a 95.
