Mullen – 2018 Class D2 State Football Runners-up

The Mullen Broncos finish the 2018 football season as Class D2 State Runners-up. The Broncos fell to Johnson Brock in the championship game today (11/19) 56-26. The game started well for Mullen as they jumped out to a 20-0 lead thanks to touchdown runs of 12, 22, and 36 yards from all state running back Lane Edis. However, Johnson Brock would get their offense cranked up as they outscored Mullen 56-6 the rest of the way. The Eagles did the majority of their damage through the air as quarterback Cole Fossenbarger finished the day 19 of 27 passing for 329 yards and 4 touchdowns. Lane Edis led the way for Mullen finishing with 263 yards rushing on 37 carries and 4 touchdowns. Johnson Brock finishes the season undefeated at 13-0 and claims its first ever state football championship. Mullen ends the season at 12-1.
