MNAC Girls Quarterfinals Results

The girls semifinals of the Mid Nebraska Activities Conference basketball tournament are set as the top four seeds advanced out of the quarterfinals Tuesday.  In games played at Callaway, the #2 seed South Loup outscored Brady 19-5 in the 2nd quarter to pull away for a 69-40 victory.  It was a balanced scoring attack for South Loup led by Jessie Sallach who had a game high 15 points with 13 of those coming in the 3rd quarter.  Also scoring in double figures for the Bobcats were Kalie Glendy with 12 while Jadeyn Bubak and Landyn Cole each finished with 10.  Brady was led by Kate Axthelm who finished with a team high 14.  South Loup will face Cody-Kilgore in the semifinals.  The third seeded Cowgirls held off Twin Loup 44-28 to advance.  Cody-Kilgore got 16 points from Tehya From and 13 from Elle Ravenscroft to advance.  Twin Loup was led by Karina Kitt who had a team high 7.

On the other side of the bracket, top seed and undefeated Mullen advanced with a 40-25 win over Sandhills Valley.  The Lady Broncos will face Anselmo-Merna in the semifinals.  The Lady Coyotes got by Arthur County 43-37.

The semifinals are now all set and will be played Thursday at the Indian Gym in Broken Bow.  The day will start with South Loup meeting Anselmo-Merna in the first boys semifinal at 3 p.m.  That will be followed by Mullen boys vs. Hyannis.  Then it will be the girls semifinals beginning with South Loup vs Cody-Kilgore followed by Mullen vs. Anselmo-Merna to conclude the day.  The semifinals will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and on kbbn.com
